London Zine Symposium 2010

I had a really good time at the London Zine Symposium together with the other members of the Sauce Collective, and I can't wait to do it all again next year. Apart from a minor leak from the roof it was all very exciting. Every stall was interesting, and I bought some nice things. I just wish I could have made some more contacts and friends, I think I will have to snap out of 'shy mode' next year and try to talk to some more people!

Does anyone want to collaborate over the summer?

I really want to collaborate with other creative people over the summer. We could send each other work and create something rather super brilliant together! Contact me on victoria.u.iles@gmail.com if that sounds like something you would be interested in. We can sort out all the details later. You don't have to be an illustrator, it would be very interesting to work with fine artists, photographers and fashion designers too!

A broken home

This is a 3D box I made for my self initiated project. It's supposed to illustrate the fact that many serial killers come from broken homes where their days have been filled with emotional and sexual abuse from the people who were supposed to be their primary caretakers. I like the tackiness of it, but it won't be amongst my finals.

OBSESSION

During these last weeks I have been working on my self initiated final project based around the word 'obsession'. I have been researching serial killers and read about their obsession with murder, their crimes, their nature, and their tragic childhoods. I developed a whole bunch of collages inspired by all the things I read about, and here they are. I have now transferred 6 of these collages onto wooden boards using Lazertran paper, and I will post some images of them after I have had my crit on thursday.
